Every teenage parents nightmare is when the time arrives and their teenager says I am ready to start dating, do you think parents even today have different standards for what age is old enough to start dating depending on their teenagers gender? Being the parent of all sons I do not have the personal experience on teenage girls and dating, but I have to admit I would be much more protective over my teenage daughter and not only for the age she started dating. I agree this is not really fair to the teenage girls in the world, in fact in my own opinion teenage girls are much more mature to date responsibly than teenage boys at the same age. I strongly feel physical age is not the best way to decide if your teenager is ready for dating or not, how old is your teenager emotionally is much more important and a much more accurate way to determine when they are ready to start dating. Also parents should take into consideration what type of dating their teenager is interested in starting to do, the teenager who wishes to meet their date in a group dating atmosphere could begin dating much younger than the teenager who wishes to go on single dates alone. When your teenager has her mind set, she is ready to start dating the best strategy for parents is to work with their teenager to come up with some boundaries.

The Great Debate. The answer depends on a variety of factors, including personality and maturity level. For one, group dating is more popular than ever not to be confused with double dating, this is when girls and boys hang out en masse, usually at a mall or a restaurant. As a result, fewer boys are actually asking girls out on one-on-one dates. All but gone are the days when an invite to a movie came by way of a phone call or a shy, in-person meeting.
